Charles McClain, M.S.

Associate Ecologist,
Restoration Ecology

Charles McClain is a senior restoration ecologist and project manager with nearly 15 years of experience. He specializes in planning, monitoring, and managing ecological restoration and mitigation projects in riparian, wetland, grassland, and oak woodland habitats. Notably, he co-chaired the inaugural virtual “Sycamore Summit,” focusing on Sycamore Alluvial Woodland conservation and restoration in California. Charles leads teams in conducting environmental analyses, providing compliance support, and developing conservation plans for both private and public sector clients. His exceptional project leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and deep ecological expertise ensure the successful management of client projects. Additionally, he is also authorized to conduct federally listed vernal pool branchiopod surveys.

Charles received an M.S. in Biology from California State University, Chico, and a B.A. in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
