John Romansic is a senior wildlife ecologist and herpetologist with more than 20 years of experience. He has observed and/or handled California red-legged frogs, foothill yellow-legged frogs, Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frogs, southern mountain yellow-legged frogs, California tiger salamanders, and blunt-nosed leopard lizards. He is also an experienced San Joaquin kit fox biologist, is an experienced giant kangaroo rat trapper, and has published more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals to date. John is authorized under the company’s 10(a)(1)(A) permit to handle California red-legged frog and California tiger salamander.
John received a Ph.D. in zoology from Oregon State University and a B.A. in integrative biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
