H. T. Harvey & Associates provided biological support services to Caltrans Districts 6 and 10. These two districts cover a third of the state, implementing maintenance and improvements on state and federal highways and bridges in 13 counties in Central California, from the eastern Sierra Nevada to the southern San Joaquin Valley. Our services to Caltrans have ranged from conducting trapping surveys for sensitive kangaroo rat species to performing construction monitoring and bird nesting deterrence, and from delivering environmental training programs to drafting natural environment studies and biological assessments that adhere to Caltrans standards. The Caltrans projects typically involve bridge repairs, pavement resurfacing, or infrastructure upgrades, performed along miles-long segments of highway in natural and developed areas.
